Our mission team set out early this morning by meeting up at Wesley UMC at 5AM. We loaded up in Flame #2 driven by Pastor Mark Bunch who drove us to IAH where we tromped through the airport with our suitcases loaded down to the maximum weight capacity of 50 pounds each. Kasandra and Lupe travelled with us back to Utila after their consultation at Shriner's Hospital. The Utila Mission Team consists of Wineva Hankamer, Edie McBride, Billy Kinney, Dana Timaeus, Kenny Fretz, Chris Wattier, Chuck Mann, John Ray, Charlie, Busceme, Colleen Barrett, Norm Wagner, and Rob Jones.
The goals of this mission are to partner with the Methodist Church on Utila for additions to the classrooms of the school house, to provide upgrades to the community clinic, and to interact with the students and teachers at the Methodist school and community.
We arrived in Utila about 3:10PM island time and we had all our luggage with us. We were glad to be here and ready to see the sights of the island. We gathered for dinner and the team came up with a plan for the morning as to how all supplies would be unpacked and how we would spring into action after breakfast. Photos will be uploaded tomorrow from today's travels. Please keep us in your prayers.
